3 Things that made me happy today

1. I finally defeated the 6-year old kid, Josh, at chess. Take that! Last night I played and won against an anonymous Russian guy. I also beat a FIDE 1600+ Spanish guy. And some other guy whose flag I didn't recognize. I can't remember their names. But they sure as hell remember mine. Mwahahaha!

2. My dad told me this sometime ago but today I confirmed it. There was, some 100 years ago, a Republic of the Visayas and later a Republic of Negros! When the Americans destroyed Aguinaldo and his puny Tagalog army around the start of the 20th century the strong people of the Visayas held firm and formed their own country! Later, when the strong people of Iloilo surrendered to the Americans the stronger people of Negros stood fast and fought to the very last man. Lo! There do I see them in the halls of Valhalla. I only wait for an opportunity to prove myself in battle and join them. I wonder if fighting Soviets over a virtual chessboard counts...

3. What makes me REALLY happy is: Christmas break is only three days away! And I have plans.

By a lion

And so Lab Exercise 1 for Elc 107 is... a BJT voltage divider circuit??? Ah, this brings back memories. Why? Because it was one of the labs in Elc 102, way back in my Luis days. Since then there has been: Marty, Rich, and Ibn.

Ten things that sound kinky but aren't when you're in Elc lab:

10. Can't get it in; it's too big!

9. Look at the curves on this one.

8. Hindi pwede dalawa sa isang butas, ok?

7. Oh my gosh! Binali mo!

6. Hold that thought. I'll go get the alligator clips.

5. How fast do you like it?

4. Ako naman magsi-strip.

3. Make sure you put it in the right hole, ok?

2. Tanggalin mo nalang ang rubber.

1. Ibn!!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag!

Highlight for explanations (but I doubt you need them):

10 - capacitor wire, breadboard hole
9 - sine wave
8 - circuit component wire, DMM probe, breadboard hole
7 - transistor leg
6 - circuit assembly?
5 - signal frequency
4 - wire stripping
3 - component wire, breadboard hole
2 - wire insulation
1 - Ibn
