2-1 sa draft, woohoo!

Pumunta kami ni Tal sa Recto ng walang dahilan at sumali sa casual 6-man draft.

I beat Tal's WALLS + SEISMIC ASSAULT = GG deck and Mr. Emo's white weenie FLASH + FIRST STRIKE = GG deck. I lost to Mr. Nice Guy's RECURRING BEACON OF DESTRUCTION + DROSS CROCODILE + FEAR = GG deck, and I'm just glad I didn't have to fight William's BALLISTA SQUAD + GREEN GIANTS = SCOOP deck. I got to pick an evacuation for my trouble.

My deck looked something like this:

2 Bloodrock cyclops
1 Boomerang
1 Viashino Runner
1 Youthful Knight
1 Robe of Mirrors
1 Earth Elemental
1 Sky Weaver
1 Fists of the Anvil (one third of your life? Gone!)
1 Incinerate
1 Bogardan Firefiend
1 5 cc White enchantment that gains you life when creatures come into play
1 Sylvan scrying (I should have picked the plains as my last pick instead, lol)
1 other random card whose identity escapes me right now

5 Mountains
4 Islands
2 Plains

This probably isn't entirely accurate. The superstars were Fists of the Anvil, Bogardan Firefiend, and Viashino Runner. Bogardan Firefiend could lock up the board by itself when I was behind on creatures. Viashino Runner's evasion had insane synergy with Fists of the Anvil since we played with just 15 life. Fists on Viashino Runner probably won me half my games. Bloodrock Cyclops was my consistent beater.

Surprisingly, Incinerate was somewhat meh. I remember using Incinerate only twice, both times to kill an Angelic Wall after Bloodrock Cyclops swung into it. This is surprising since I first-picked Incinerate and drafted red from there.

Haha.

I am ready.

This is too good to be allowed to fade into memory.

me: Funny.
Not too long ago when I thought of a deck the lands were the last thing i considered.
Now they take precedence over everything else.
After the lands, the engine.
And THEN the pieces.
Times have changed.

marty: no
YOU have changed.

me: I am ready to become a Jedi.
