is what Ernest Becker thinks about death; a hill's crest in a roller coaster ride. Culture, further, is a group of billboards beside the roller coaster that distracts us from death and stops us from contemplating what lies beyond.

I think life is like a song that can be sung only once (like in the Silmarillon). Once it's over, it's over, and you can only hope you've LSS'ed somebody.
